2025 Toyota Sequoia Redesign, Diesel, TRD Pro, and Specs. Despite its age, the Sequoia is still the first choice of a fine number of drivers, and that is for several reasons. Of course, there is superior reliability above everything else, but this full-size SUV also comes with a full load of safety features, powerful engine, spacious cabin and cargo area. Still, keep in mind that we are talking about the vehicle that has been introduced more than ten years, so there is a couple of notable drawbacks. This primarily refers to poor fuel economy, as well as to an outdated infotainment system and other tech features.
A full redesign won’t happen in the next few years, so the 2025 Toyota Sequoia will definitely come without more important changes. It will come with the pretty much same appearance as the model that came two years ago when we saw the last of several updates of the current generation. Expect to see the next-year model sometime in late 2025.
2025 Toyota Sequoia Safety
The Sequoia outshines pretty much all rivals in terms of safety. The list of standard safety systems and driver aids is pretty more impressive. It includes things like a rearview camera, blind spot monitoring, lane change assist, front and rear parking sensors, rear cross traffic alert etc. The Toyota Safety Sense is also part of standard equipment. This suite includes advanced systems like forwarding collision warning, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control.
2025 Toyota Sequoia Engine
While some previous year models were available in a couple of powertrain options, last several year models were offered with just one engine. The 2025 Toyota Sequoia will continue in the same way. It will feature a well-known 5.7-liter V8 engine, which is good for about 380 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. Such amount of power moves this heavy SUV surprisingly quickly. The Sequoia also rides pretty smooth, thanks to a proven 6-speed automatic transmission. As we already mentioned, this is one of the most reliable engines on the market. On the other side, you will pay the price with a poor fuel economy, which goes around 13 mpg in the city and 18 mpg in the city. Towing capacity also isn’t spectacular, it goes around 7.500 pounds.
2025 Toyota Sequoia Redesign
In terms of base design characteristics, the 2025 Toyota Sequoia definitely won’t feature any important changes. Despite we are talking about a vehicle that is more than ten years old, the Sequoia is still a very tough competitor. The styling has been updated a couple of years ago when we saw novelties at the front end. Practically, the front end is the same as on Tundra pickup. While the aesthetics have been updated for a couple of times so far, the mechanics haven’t received too many updates during a decade of production.
Despite that fact, the Sequoia delivers a quiet smooth ride and, more importantly, amazing off-road capability. The best model for comparison in this aspect would be Land Rover. While the British SUV probably offers better performances on hard terrains, the Sequoia is way superior in terms of reliability. Speaking of the reliability, many consider this SUV as one of the most reliable vehicles not only in its class but in the overall car market.
2025 Toyota Sequoia Interior
The interior of 2025 Toyota Sequoia will also continue in the same way. This is both good and bad. In terms of interior space and cargo volume, this is a pretty amazing SUV. On the other side, it started to show its age many years ago. Most rivals look fare more upscale on the inside. This refers not just to tech features, but also to overall interior styling. While most rivals largely feature soft-touch materials, the Sequoia is full of hard plastics, which isn’t a standard in the segment anymore. Despite it looks rough, these plastics surfaces are extremely durable and will last for ages.
As we’ve already mentioned, the Sequoia lack not just in terms of cabin refinement, but in terms of tech features. This particularly refers to the infotainment system. It is easy to use, but other manufacturers offer systems with more options, quicker response, better graphics, bigger screens etc. It lacks the latest connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The 2025 Toyota Sequoia will come with standard tech features such as 6.1-inch touch screen, an eight-speaker audio system, satellite radio, a USB port, Bluetooth etc. In higher trims, you can also get things like premium audio system, navigation, rear-seat entertainment system etc.
2025 Toyota Sequoia Release Date and Price
Considering that there are no bigger changes to come, we have no doubt that the 2025 Toyota Sequoia will hit the market sometime late in the year. Price should remain pretty much the same, around 49.000 dollars for the base model.
